PRESIDENTIAL

ADDRESS

Igbo wu Igbo Ekelem unu, Ndewo nu Umunnem.

My Most Beloved UIU Dallas Family,

As we joyously embrace the new month, I extend a warm welcome to each of you, cherished members to the vibrant tapestry of our Igbo community. Let this message resonate as a beacon of optimism and genuine appreciation for the journey that lies ahead.

In the spirit of shared aspirations, our vision for the year is grounded in a resolute commitment to elevate Igbo excellence through a clear tripod focus: Unity, Community Empowerment, and the Preservation of our cherished Igbo culture in the diaspora.

Unity: Together, we are stronger. Our strength lies in the bonds that tie us, transcending geographical boundaries. This year, let us fortify our unity, drawing inspiration from the rich threads of resilience that weave through our collective history.

Community Empowerment: Empowering each member is at the heart of our mission. We pledge to provide opportunities for growth, ensuring that every individual, irrespective of background, finds avenues to flourish within our community. Your success is our success, and together, we shall prosper.

Preservation of Igbo Culture in Diaspora: Our cultural identity is a treasure we carry with pride. In the diaspora, let us embark on a journey to preserve and promote our unique Igbo heritage. Through cultural exchange programs and collaborative initiatives, we will strengthen the roots that connect us across continents.

As we navigate the days and months ahead, let optimism be our guiding light. Our collective endeavors are poised to define a future marked by the brilliance of Igbo Excellence. Your participation, your ideas, and your passion are invaluable, and I am confident that, together, we will script a narrative of success.

Thank you for being an integral part of our community. May this year bring prosperity, unity, and the fulfillment of shared dreams. Here's to a year of accomplishments and shared victories.

Warm regards,

Keside Obielu

UIU Dallas President

Quarter 1: Investing in Our Community

This month, UIU is proud to announce our collaboration with two incredible Dallas organizations as part of our Quarter for Cause initiative. We are committed to investing in our community and supporting those in need.

Brother Bill's Helping Hand:

For over 79 years, Brother Bill's Helping Hand has been a beacon of hope in the West Dallas and Oak Cliff communities. They provide essential services such as food, healthcare, and educational programming to individuals and families facing hardships. As part of our partnership, UIU volunteers will be at Brother Bill's South Dallas community market grocery store, ensuring that our neighbors have access to healthy food. We'll be restocking shelves and offering support to shoppers in need.
